The Dharruk come from a planet in the constellation of Crux, also known as “The Southern Cross.” According to astronomers, the Southern Cross’s symbol is a traditional Christian cross, but according to the Dharruk, it was originally called “The Anchor” because of its neighboring constellations: “Vela” (The Sails), Puppis (The Stern), and “Carina” (The Keel). With the constellation of “Pyxis” (The Compass) right above all three, these constellations combined create a galactic scene of a ship, sails, anchor, and compass.

Crux Constellation - The Dharrukk

One would think the story of the Dharruk would be one of faith, given their symbol, but actually, it’s quite the opposite. They are not a very spiritual group, as they literally embody the energy of “The Hermit Crab.” Although their tragic past has forced them to abandon their home planet and cohabitate with other galactic groups, at their core, they are true hermits.

Unlike many other soul groups, the Dharruk aren’t interested in exploring outside of their planet; they prefer to explore inside it as master miners and harvesters. They were in the process of mining deep caves for “their planet’s blood” to transfuse into a humanoid-made volcano on their closest moon. This was advanced technology they used in an effort to develop their moon’s atmosphere. Their civilization was type 1, nearing type 2 on the Kardashev Scale. Their intelligence was that of the 4D, and it was so advanced that they could literally perform planet blood (or lava) transfusions from one planet to another.
