The Antarians are a highly advanced star race primarily existing in non-physical dimensions, but eventually transitioned into physicality around the same time as the Andromedans. They are known as the portal openers due to their incredible ability to open and close one of the biggest portals known to the Federations, the Antares Stargate. Many starseeds who originate from the Andromeda Galaxy enter the Milky Way through this super massive gateway.
The two groups worked closely together to bring Andromedan volunteers into the Milky Way through this portal. However, the portal is unique in that it operates as a one-way gateway. Once beings from the Andromeda Galaxy passed through, they could enter the Milky Way but could not return to their original galaxy through the same route. This kind of portal is similar to a highway exit, but on a galactic scale. In the universe, when you take an exit to leave one path, finding a corresponding exit to return in the opposite direction is far more complicated. Many return portals either have not been constructed yet or exist at great distances, making the journey back both difficult and time-consuming. This means that those who choose to enter through the Antares Stargate commit to a permanent transition into the Milky Way, embracing a new phase of existence and exploration without the option of a simple return.
The Antares Stargate is not the only portal these insectoid looking beings have constructed. They are responsible for creating many others throughout the universe, designed to shorten the time required for interstellar travel. These portals function similarly to wormholes, connecting distant points in space to allow faster passage between planets. They are usually built after intelligent life is discovered in a region, helping to bridge the immense time it would take to travel from one inhabited world to another.
